“Local government can have a greater impact on your day-to-day life than you may realize. Housing, traffic, clean water, and clean air are frequently more influenced by local decisions than by politics at the provincial or federal level”
– Better North Shore
We are a North Shore-wide “neighbourhood association” for the 21st century
We believe the North Shore is more ready for more significant changes than our current councils admit. If our municipal councils rely on traditional neighbourhood associations to represent us for opinions regarding transportation, housing and climate, we won’t be moving fast enough. If you want transportation choices, more housing options, local food, green roofs, and streets for kids and people, not traffic, connect with us.
What we do
AWARENESS We keep people like you up to to date on the latest North Shore issues.
ACTION We organize transportation events and public forums on various issues.
ADVOCACY We present to council and lobby council members.
Our Values
EQUITY Everyone, regardless of financial status, can enjoy the North Shore to live, work, and play.
FREEDOM We all have the freedom to choose how to get around and where we live.
RESPONSIBILITY We will make the North Shore liveable for our kids, grandkids, and generations to come.
